    Prevent the flu

You can avoid catching or spreading the flu by following these simple habits:

    • wash your hands often.
    • avoid touching your nose, eyes and mouth.
    • cough or sneeze into the crease of your elbow.
    • throw your soiled tissues in the trash.
    • get into the habit of regularly cleaning your surroundings and the plumbing fixtures you use. For example, clean counters, doorknobs, toilets and sinks.
    • avoid contact with sick people who could be contagious.
    • Avoid visiting the elderly or people with chronic illness if you are ill.
