Getting vaccinations for children aged 0 to 17

The 18-Month Vaccination Appointment
The Agir tôt program offers, free of charge, to all 18-month-old children in Quebec, an enhanced vaccination appointment to allow parents to discuss their child's development and health with a nurse.
What happens during the appointment?
- The one-hour meeting takes place at the CLSC with a qualified nurse and includes an assessment of the child’s physical, motor, cognitive, and socio-emotional development.
- Parental participation is required to provide relevant information for the child’s file.
- If any difficulties are identified, the child will be referred—with parental consent—to the Agir tôt pathway or another appropriate service.
- The appointment concludes with vaccination.

Immunization Against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in Infants (Nirsevimab/Beyfortus)
What is RSV?
RSV is a virus that causes infections in the respiratory tract and lungs. It spreads through droplets from the nose or throat of an infected person.
RSV is highly contagious. It can cause wheezing and symptoms similar to those of a cold or flu. Although it is usually mild, certain high-risk individuals, such as young children and older adults, can develop severe complications, such as pneumonia or bronchiolitis. In some cases, these complications can lead to hospitalization.
How to Protect Your Baby
The RSV vaccine is offered free of charge during the respiratory infection season and is available for certain eligible babies. For up-to-date eligibility criteria and details, visit Québec.ca – RSV Immunization.
Booking an Appointment
Parents can access this service for their baby through different options:
- At birth in the hospital or birthing center.
- At the CLSC during a postnatal follow-up appointment or at a 2- or 4-month vaccination appointment.
- At local service points (PSLs) for healthy babies aged 4 to 5 months or babies aged 6 to 18 months at risk of complications.
- Babies aged 4 to 18 months who are eligible but have not received immunization at birth or at a CLSC can receive it by appointment at a local service point (PSL).
