Workshop description
This workshop is for the parents of children who have been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and who no longer know how to act with their child, who avoid intervening for fear of making things worse, or who may give in, repeat themselves, threaten or impose strict rules to make their child obey. Workshop goals:
- Understand ADHD and its impact on family life.
- Learn adapted and effective intervention strategies.
- Learn a step-by-step process to better understand why children disobey, to reinforce good behaviour, and to better manage oppositional behaviour.
Who are these workshops for?
Parents of children aged 5 to 12 who have been diagnosed with ADHD and who regularly defy their paren
Workshop format
- 9 to 10 meetings, 2 hours per week ( 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.)
- Led by two staff members from the CISSS de Laval
- Offered in French only
- Next session: February 17 to April 28, 2022 at the
CLSC de Sainte-Rose
- There will be no session during the Spring break
- The group will be held in compliance with the health measures in force (wearing a mask, washing hands, distancing, checking symptoms, no food)
