Language & Communication

The Research Unit on Language & Communication fosters clinical research on language deficits following neurological events. Our primary focus is to achieve a better understanding of the underlying deficits that accompany acquired and developmental language disorders so as better assess and plan speech-language treatment for individuals with aphasia, traumatic brain injury and primary language impairment. Our secondary goal is to investigate the effect of language use in the assessment of pain in multilingual clinical environments.
