Test Centres

For blood tests or other tests, the/typo3conf/l10n/fr/rtehtmlarea/Resources/Private/Language/fr.locallang_accessibilityicons.xlf:external_link_new_window_altTexttest centres of the CISSS de Laval offer free services from Monday to Friday:

7:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.: walk-in service only

  • Centre de services ambulatoires
  • CLSC du Boulevard-des-Laurentides
  • CLSC de l’Ouest-de-l’Île
  • CLSC des Mille-Îles (As of January 15th, 2018, the test centre will have a walk-in and appointment service)

7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.: walk-in service / 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.: with appointments

* Please note that the service is closed between 12:00 p.m. and 1:15 p.m.

Our test centres are closed during statutory holidays. We also observe International Women’s Day (2nd Friday in March) and Remembrance Day (2nd Monday in November). What to do before you come:

Before going to a test centre, don’t forget to:

  • Bring your Health Insurance Card.
  • Read over your sample collection form request for any special instructions.
  • Follow the instructions, if any (don't eat or drink, no alcohol, etc.).
  • Bring the sample collection form request that your doctor gave you.  

 

 

 

 

Your doctor must fill out this section of the sample collection form in order to proceed with the test.

Specific Information

Tests requiring an appointment at Hôpital de la Cité-de-la-Santé. Contact the centralized appointment centre at 450-975-5560 for:

  • Platelet aggregation tests
  • Osmotic fragility tests
  • All HLA tests
  • Semen analysis
  • Lactose tolerance tests
  • D-xylose absorption test
  • Pregnant women: 1st screening test at 10 to 14 weeks and blood test for the Trisomy 21 Prenatal Screening Program of Québec (Laval region)

Walk-in tests at the hospital:

  • C-Telopeptide (CTELS)

 

 

Make sure you respect the particularities associated with the following tests:

  • Faecal calprotectin: The faecal calprotectin test is only perform from Monday to Wednesday at any CLSC or Hôpital de la Cité-de-la-Santé.
  • Hemochromatosis (HFE1): The hemochromatosis (HFE1) test is perform from Monday to Thursday at any CLSC or Hôpital de la Cité-de-la-Santé, except the day before Ouvre un lien interne dans une nouvelle fenêtrestatutory holidays. For tests for children 6 and under, you must go to the Hôpital de la Cité-de-la-Santé test centre for all tests between 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

  • Women who are going to deliver at Hôpital de la Cité-de-la-Santé must come to the hospital’s test centre (MANDATORY) between 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
  • For screening tests at 10 to 14 weeks of pregnancy and for the 1-hour 50-g glucose screening test (to check for gestational diabetes) at 26 weeks, you will need an appointment. Contact the centralized appointment centre at 450-975-5560. You will be given two appointments.
  • The test for the Trisomy 21 Prenatal Screening Program of Québec is usually done at the same time as your 10 to 14 week screening test. Contact the centralized appointment centre at 450-975-5560.
  • If your doctor asks you to do the 2-hour 75-g glucose tolerance test, go to the Hôpital de la Cité-de-la-Santé test centre before 8:00 a.m., Monday to Friday. You can’t eat or drink for 8 hours before this test. 
  • To get an Anti-D shot, go to the Hôpital de la Cité-de-la-Santé test centre between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. with your Anti-D prescription, the pink pamphlet you received at your 26-week blood test and your hospital card.

If you need containers, you can get some the next time you have blood taken.

If you need containers but don't have an upcoming test, go to one of our test centres with your prescription (make sure to check the opening hours before you go).

Containers can then be returned to any test centres during opening hours only. Note: Containers can be returned to the Hôpital de la Cité-de-la-Santé test centre between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Don’t take your medication the morning of your blood test, unless your doctor indicates otherwise.

Note that test centres do not provide results. You will get your test results from your doctor.

At home sample collection is only for people with severely limited mobility. With a referral only.
