  • Complications to watch out for


    24 hours a day, 7 days a week:

    If you have difficulty breathing or for any emergency: immediately contact Urgences-santé at 911.

    If you have one or more the following signs or symptoms:

    Calf pain
    You have cramps or constant pain in your calf. If you see redness or feel heat in your calf.
    Your legs are cold.
    Your legs are cold and pale or you have leg pain.
    Heart palpitations
    Heart palpitations or chest pain.
    Dizziness
    Persistent dizziness or sudden weakness.

    Contact a nurse at Info-Santé by calling 811 at any time (24 hrs a day)


    If you have one or more the following signs or symptoms:

    Fever
    Fever (38.5°C or 101°F or higher) for over 24 hours
    Nausea
    You have nausea or vomiting and can’t tolerate fluids.
    Pain is not relived by medication
    Your pain increases and is not relieved by medication.

    Or signs of surgical site infection:

    • redness
    • pain
    • swelling
    Groin swelling
    Swelling in the belly

    You can contact the nurse at the Vascular Clinic at the Hôpital de la Cité-de-la-Santé at 450-975-5330, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
