Look Good Feel Better Program

The Look Good Feel Better campaign provides women who are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment with makeup created for their needs. During small workshops or seminars, professional cosmetologists give advice on skin care, wigs, and hairstyles for temporary hair loss.

This free program is for all women living with cancer and is an initiative of the Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association.

Schedule:

 Second Monday of every month from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Laval prostate cancer support group

In collaboration with the CISSS de Laval, the /typo3conf/l10n/fr/rtehtmlarea/Resources/Private/Language/fr.locallang_accessibilityicons.xlf:external_link_new_window_altText Canadian Cancer Society runs free monthly meetings for men who have prostate cancer and for their family caregivers. A professional and a trained volunteer run the meeting. This group lets male prostate cancer patients and their family caregivers open up about their concerns in separate sub-groups to get practical information about the concrete aspects of the disease.

 “Coffee klatches” the first Monday of every month (except from June-August)
from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

ACTIVIE® FITNESS PROGRAM

Created for anyone diagnosed with cancer, the Activie® fitness program was developed and is implemented in collaboration with the Carrefour Multisports and includes the services and support of an experienced kinesiologist. It is fully funded by the /typo3conf/l10n/fr/rtehtmlarea/Resources/Private/Language/fr.locallang_accessibilityicons.xlf:external_link_new_window_altText Fondation Cité de la Santé.

Combining exercises with games and support groups with 10 to 16 people, Activie® aims to improve patients’ physical fitness and overall well-being while strengthening their personal connections. Each session includes a warm-up, aerobic exercises, full-body strength exercises, and stretching.
