Adoption and foster families

Become a foster family

Foster family

The CISSS de Laval is currently looking for people who want to get involved as a foster family and who are ready to offer support, time, safety, and affection to children who need a family home. Needs are particularly urgent for children aged 4 and under. Foster families who are approved by the youth centre receive compensation as well as support and follow-up from professionals.

What are some of the eligibility criteria to become a foster family?

  • You reside in Laval.
  • You are in good physical and mental health.
  • You do not have a criminal record.
  • You live alone or with your partner or family.
  • You have enough space to accommodate a child, and your living environment meets safety, hygiene and comfort standards.
  • You will treat the child under your care like any other member of your family.
  • You believe that the child has the potential to fully develop physically and intellectually.
